BIOGRAPHY
Abubakar Abdul-Rahman, DNP, is a board-certified advanced registered nurse practitioner at Dunia Health Clinic. Dr. Abdul-Rahman was born in the country of Tanzania in the mid-seventies. When he moved to the United States in 1998, he knew he wanted to study medicine. He started as a certified nursing assistant and soon made his way to working part-time as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Washington (UW) Medical Center while attending the UW for his doctorate. Two years before graduating from his Doctor of Nursing Practice program at UW, he became a community nurse, making house calls to those in need of services who did not have the proper resources to find a clinic near them. After graduating in 2015 and working as a community nurse, he saw the needs of those in disenfranchised communities who couldn’t afford or did not have the resources to go to a general medical clinic.
"By staying as an independent practice, I can give my patients more personalized care by creating unique treatment plans, serving those who do not have insurance, and by doing this and more, making a difference in my community."
ICW brings independent local healthcare providers together to collaborate, share resources, and help each other grow.
ICW gives providers more control over their patients’ care. We provide the resources and support independent providers need to build their practices.
