BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Weingeist is a board-certified ophthalmologist who received his medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed his ophthalmology training at the University of Washington. His practice includes local optical shops, a dedicated LASIK suite, and an ambulatory surgery center, ensuring convenient access to optical products and eye surgeries without lengthy commutes. Actively engaged in the medical community, Dr. Weingeist serves on the board of directors for the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and advises the board of directors of the Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company. His contributions to the AAO have resulted in multiple awards, including the Special Recognition Award, Achievement Award, Secretariat Award, and Distinguished Service Award. Beyond his medical commitments, Dr. Weingeist enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, cooking, photography, running, and fly fishing.
